SPAM Suckers!
Submitted by Mark on Tue, 12/07/2010 - 15:40I was just doing a quick tidy/search/sniff! of Elf Knows It and couldn't help but notice a certain post has got a nice number of views. It's this one.
It has received just over 56100 views since the end of August, so I checked the logs and found an unreal amount of SPAM attempts on that post, It can only be down to the keyword Forums in the title dragging in all the SPAM, it's hilarious!
Mollom For Now!
Submitted by Mark on Mon, 12/06/2010 - 19:26A follow on from my earlier post regarding reCAPTCHA, it's a stubborn yoke! I spent a good while poking around looking for an answer but got nowhere, I even started from scratch creating fresh keys for the site. No joy, and after a bit of "Googling" for an answer I found a good few Drupal users with the same problem, so my faith was shot down.
Spam/Junk E-mail
Submitted by Mark on Fri, 07/11/2008 - 09:50I got a question today from John in Galway, He asked about spam e-mail in his Eircom Webmail account.
I have been using the same e-mail address for
about a year, and never had a problem with spam or junk e-mail, but
lately I have been getting swamped with it, I'm using Eircom web-mail
as my e-mail service, Why did the spam only start now? And how can I
stop it?

Who Let The Bots Out?
Submitted by Mark on Tue, 06/03/2008 - 00:56I came back to my blog today to find I had been attacked by a gang of spam bots!, Opening blog comments to guests always poses this threat!, So I have had to add a simple image verification to comments, and the contact form, Nothing major, Just 5 simple letters to re-type! I figured this is the better option rather than blocking comments to guests!
How do you tackle the spam bots?
